Real Kevin has been writing and performing their take on garage rock, post-punk & grunge throughout southern ontario for the last 2 years and have just released their 2021 double album “Ninety Four”. This album features 8 tracks pulling from their indie rock influence (Ninety Four) and 8 tracks that drive toward a heavy grunge sound (‘94). both sides are on display at their live shows. The band was a finalist in this past year’s 97.7 HTZ-FM Rock Search.

Dan Hyatt

bassist and overall hunk, steady playing carries the band’s songs through his walking bass lines and driving rhythm, showcasing an ability to be anything a song needs him to be. cultivating influences like Krist Novoselic & Flea, Danny’s bass playing is the glue in Real Kevin’s music.

John Fedchun

drummer and vocalist, performing hard hitting, pulsing beats w/ experimental flourishes that call on his influences from groups like Ween, My Bloody Valentine and reaches all the way back to his love of inventive players like Art Blakey & Tony Williams.

Jay Knelsen

guitar and lead vocals in Real Kevin, playing style and writing heavily influenced by alternative bands of the 80s and 90s (Pixies, The Replacements & Nirvana). has been playing in bands with drummer, John, since high school.
